Bow Front Night Stand

These night stands are inspired by Federal furniture from the early 19th century.  These night stands are made of solid mahogany with maple as the drawer parts.  Details include a bow front, tapered legs and cock beading around the drawers with reproduction brass hardware. The hand rubbed  finish give these night stands a beautiful patina. Take a look at these handmade bedside tables being built on our current projects page or watch our building process video

Federal Furniture:

Federal style furniture developed, and was prominent between 1780-1820, in the period following the Revolutionary War.  This style of furniture is unique to America, with strong influences from Hepplewhite furniture, and Sheraton furniture from Europe.   It is also known as neoclassical furniture.   Federal furniture is often characterized by graceful straight lines, tapered legs, inlay, and contrasting veneers.   Woods most often used in Federal furniture was mahogany, cherry, and walnut, with many other species used in the veneer and inlay.
